We are an organization nestled in Central Wisconsin, where the howls of wolfdogs blend with the quiet camaraderie of Veterans. This is Apex Angel’s & Warriors, a haven dedicated to rescuing and providing lifelong care for wolfdogs while simultaneously offering a unique therapeutic experience for Veterans.
At Apex Angel’s & Warriors, these majestic canids, often misunderstood and requiring specialized care, find a permanent sanctuary. Their enclosures are spacious and naturalistic, allowing them to express their inherent behaviors. Dedicated volunteers ensure their physical and emotional well-being through proper nutrition, veterinary care, and enrichment activities.
What sets Apex Angel’s and Warriors apart is its profound connection with the Veteran community. The organization fosters a mutually beneficial relationship where Veterans actively participate in the care and well-being of the wolfdogs. This interaction provides Veterans with a sense of purpose, routine, and the unconditional companionship of these incredible animals. We call it “Dual Healing”.
Through daily tasks such as feeding, grooming, and observing the wolfdogs, Veterans can experience a calming and grounding presence. The responsibility of caring for another being can foster a renewed sense of self-worth and connection. The unique challenges and rewards of working with wolfdogs can also promote teamwork, patience, trust and understanding.
Apex Angel’s & Warriors Sanctuary offers more than just animal care. It cultivates a supportive community where Veterans can connect with one another, sharing experiences and finding solace in a shared mission. The sanctuary becomes a place of healing, where the bond between humans and animals fosters emotional well-being and a path towards recovery. It's a testament to the powerful impact of nature and companionship of the wolfdogs in the lives of those who have served.
